2011-2012 Season The Cultures that Disappeared The season will open this autumn with a photographic exhibit from the Holocaust Museum of Houston, Lives Remembered: Photographs of a Small Town (1897-1939), which will focus on the demise of a single shtetl, Szczuczyn in Poland. In December, we shall hold a one-day Yiddish film festival and show three classics of the Yiddish film industry. In the spring, the Museum will house an exhibit of posters from the Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum in Vilnius, Lithuania. The exhibit will show the rich culture that existed in the Vilna Ghetto before its liquidation. Spring 2011 will also see the Museum screening Yael Hersonski’s powerful documentary about the Warsaw Ghetto A Film Unfinished that chronicles the Nazis’ crude attempt at anti-Semitic cinematic propaganda. For more information, visit our Events page. 2012 Annual Art Contest The winners of the 2012 Annual Art Contest were announced at our annual Yom HaShoah commemoration. If you'd like to see the winning entries, you can see them on our Facebook or Google+ pages. Newsletter The Spring edition of the Museum's newsletter should be shipping soon but an electronic version is already available. The following letter was mailed recently to clarify statements made in the President's Message of the Spring newsletter. If you missed the Winter issue you can find it here.
